Gov Marañon Admits: Education Key Solution to Poverty

"Education is the best solution to poverty." Thus said Negros Occidental Governor Alfredo Marañon, Jr, during the launching yesterday of ABK 3 Child Labor Monitoring System at Nature’s Village, Talisay City.

ABK 3 is a project of the Provincial Council for the Rights and Welfare of Children (PCRWC), advocating to eliminate child labor in 15 cities/municipalities of Negros Occidental.

ABK3 LEAP, PCRWC and Microsoft Partner to Create Monitoring System for Children in Negros Occ.

The Provincial Council for the Rights and Welfare of Children (PCRVVC) is set to pilot a functional monitoring system to track child labor situation in Negros Occidental, in collaboration with the ABK3 LEAP project. The Child Labor Monitoring System (CLMS) will be piloted in 15 sugar producing cities/municipalities covered by ABK3 LEAP, with support from software developer Microsoft. The initiative will be launched today, May 29, 2014 at Nature’s Village Resort in Talisay City.
