Nicor in a press conference at Negros Press Club yesterday, said he personally heard Reloj’s interview over a local radio station linking him to the illegal drug trade reportedly based on the claims of two suspects who were allegedly arrested by the Moises Padilla police in a drug bust operation in San Enrique town.

“Just prove it,” Nicor said, adding that his family will file charges against Reloj for his unfounded statements which has put his family in bad light.

Nicor was with his sister, La Castellana Mayor Rhumyla Nicor-Mangilimutan, and mother La Castellana ABC President Noemi Nicor.

The councilor showed to the media the result of two drug tests he took recently which showed he is negative of illegal drug use.

He added that he will subject himself anytime to drug test if anybody wants it.

The councilor added that he has been cleared by the La Castellana police headed by Chief Inspector Irma Teozon of any involvement in illegal drugs.

“I don’t know what is the motive of CI Reloj why he is linking me to the illegal drug trade, he should prove his allegations, it is unfair on our part being tagged without proof at all.” He lamented.

He admitted that he used to be a user of illegal drugs before but has stopped after he was elected number two councilor in La Castellana.

“I was a user before but now not anymore. I am not a drug peddler much more a drug lord nor financier,” added.

He also urged the media to visit and see his house in La Castellana town, “so that you can see that I am living in a modest home and do not have a lavish lifestyle as that of a drug lord.”

On her part, Mayor Mangilimutan reiterated that if proven that her brother is indeed involved in illegal drugs she will be the one who to “shoot him”, adding that “because I know he is not I am standing by him and I am challenging CI Reloj to show proof of his allegations.”

The mayor said she will file administrative and criminal charges against Reloj for his unfounded statements that has maligned her name and her family.

She also called on Negros Occidental Police Provincial Office director, Sr. Supt. Rodolfo Castil to look into the actuations of CI Reloj.

“He is the chief of police of Moises Padilla and those he arrested are from Moises Padilla town (an adjacent locality of La Castellana) whom he claimed are pointing at my brother. What credence does he have?.” the mayor further said.

She added that she also came to know that while Reloj claimed that the suspects were arrested in a reported buy bust operation in San Enrique town, there was no blotter report about the incident in the San Enrique PNP station.

Reloj could not be reached for comment as of presstime.* (NDB)
