Ceres North Terminal Passengers Stranded
Many passengers; office workers and students from the northern side of Negros Occidental were stranded yesterday morning at the Ceres north terminal because drivers of public utility jeepneys (PUJs) did not show up at the terminal. This prompted the Ceres Liner buses to ferry them from the terminal to the back of West Negros University in consideration of their time to report to office or classes.
However, they did charge additional payment to the passengers, as it was only a gesture of consideration to their situation, said Jade Ceballos, spokesperson of Vallacar Transit operating the Ceres buses, during an interview yesterday with Aksyon Radyo Bacolod.
The PUJs at the terminal did not ply their routes yesterday from there to Burgos Street to express their sentiments because for every trip, the Ceres personnel collects P20.00 from them.
Ceballos clearly denied that their company is charging any PUJ.
The favor given to the stranded passengers was only an act of consideration, because they have no franchise to ferry passengers from their north terminal to Burgos Streetm she stressed.*
