Pa Dies, 2 Sons Hurt in Road Mishap

A father and his two sons onboard a tricycle figured in a collision with a Wrangler jeep along the curve in Crossing Antolo, Barangay Su-ay, Himamaylan City, 8:30 p.m. on Tuesday.

Police Chief Inspector Antonio Benitez, Jr., OIC police chief of Himamaylan City PNP identified the fatality as Ramon Aguirre Mongcal, 31, of Barangay Su-ay, Himamaylan.

He sustained head and body injuries and was rushed to Lorenzo Zayco Memorial District Hospital, but was declared dead on arrival.

His two sons identified as Ramon Lopez Mongcal II, 10, and Regie Lopez Mongcal, 8, sustained injuries and were transferred to a Bacolod City hospital for further medication.

Driver of the jeep was identified as Larry Masayon Bolo, 47, of Barangay Talubangi, Kabankalan City.parHe surrendered to Himamaylan City PNP and settled the case with the victim’s family, according to Benitez.

Investigation disclosed that the tricycle the victims were in was on the north direction, while the jeep was running opposite direction.

The tricycle reportedly swerved to the path of the jeep that resulted to the collision causing the death of the father and pinning his sons inside the tricycle.*(Cyrus M. Garde)
