Tan Gets Tourism Award
Bacolod City Councilor Ricardo “Cano” Tan of Campuestohan Highland Resort is among the top 14 tourism awardees by SKAL International-Makati for their advance contribution in the development and promotion of tourism in the country.
SKAL International is the only professional organization of tourism leaders around the world, promoting global tourism and friendship and unites all branches of the travel and tourism industry.
The event is in line with SKAL International Makati’s 36th founding anniversary and 27th SKAL International Tourism Personality Awards wherein around 200 guests are expected to attend the awarding rites.
The awardees are important personalities and professionals from the tourism industry.
SKAL Chairman Robert Lim Joseph in a statement said this annual prestigious awards are given to individuals for their significant support and contributions to the development and promotions of tourism in the country as the Asia’s best tourist destination.
Tourism Secretary Wanda Tulfo-Teo and former Ilocos Sur Governor and businessman Luis “Chavit” Singson will join SKAL Chairman Joseph and SKAL and Philippine Airlines (PAL) President Jaime Bautista in awarding the top 14 tourism leaders.
The awarding rites will be held at the Grand Ballroom of New World Makati Hotel today, September 7, 2017.
Furthermore, Tan will receive the most prestigious award for Resort and Theme Park and as Tourism Personality Awardee for 2017.
Other awardees include: Bruce Winston of Marriott for First Integrated Hotel/Resort/Gaming/Events Category; Bonifacio Sam, President of PAL Express for Airline category; Henry Chusuey of Henann Resort Group for Resort Hotel category; Laurenti Dyogi of ABS-CBN for Broadcast Media category, Deedee Sytangco of Manila Bulletin for Hall of Fame in Journalism.
Additional awardees are Bum Tenorio of Philippine STAR for Broadsheet Lifestyle, Travel and Tourism category; Cookie Bartolome of Family Entertainment category of ABS CBN Project Lead theme attraction; president and CEO of Play Innovation and Governor of Kidzania; Jing Lagandaon for MICE (Meeting, Incentives, Conventions, Events/Exhibitions) category; Gregor Zajc of Blue Horizon for Inbound Travel Category; Jayson Yang of Travel Warehouse for Out-bound Travel category and Gina Montes of Negros for Academe category.
