Sugar & More Negros Summit Set
A Sugar and More Negros Summit is set on September 7, 2017 at Sugarland Hotel in Bacolod City that aims to proactively address the urgent challenges affecting the Negros sugarcane industry in particular and Negros Occidental’s economy in general.
The activity is spearheaded by the Negros Occidental Investment and Promotion Center.
The Provincial Government of Negros Occidental considers that the two Negros Provinces also need to reexamine its strategic positions in terms of economic direction vis-à-vis the rest of the country and Southeast Asia; that there is a need to find ways to strengthen the agricultural economy while developing other avenues for more investments, growth and job creation.
The summit likewise aims to provide a venue to explore areas such as Strategic Action Agenda for Negros Sugar, Proposed Policy and Legislative Measures for endorsement to National Government, Strategic Agro-Industrial Development Projects as Potential Investment Opportunities, and More Than Just Sugar: Alternatives for Farmers-Agripreneurs.
The summit is themed “Sugar&More: Forging a Strategic Negros Economic Development Agenda.”*(Capitol News)
