No Admin Probe Yet for Cops Tagged in Malabor Slay

There is still no administrative proceedings yet against the two policemen implicated in the assassination of Provincial Board Member Renato Malabor and his bodyguard, Butch Jumilla.

Negros Occidental acting police provincial director Sr. Supt. Samuel Nacion clarified that while PO1 Robert Chloe Rito and PO1 Ariel Ansag, have both reported to the Negros Occidental Police Provincial Office on Monday, “they are not restricted within camp.”

Cop, 6 Others in Malabor Slay Named

Police authorities identified the alleged triggerman who shot Negros Occidental Provincial Board member (5th district) Renato Malabor and his bodyguard Leody “Butch” Jomilla, in Isabela last month.

Two counts of murder were filed yesterday at the Provincial Prosecutor’s Office against PO1 Robert Chloe Rito of the Isabela PNP whow as alleged as the triggerman, and six others.

The charges were based on the testimonies of several witnesses, including a minor.

MURDER CHARGES FILED vs 10 SUSPECTS: In the killing of PBM Malabor and bodyguard

Murder charges were filed yesterday afternoon, July 28 against 10 suspects (7 named, 3 not yet) in the shooting to death of Negros Occidental Provincial Board Member Renato Malabor and his bodyguard, Leody “Butch” Jumilla in Isabela, Negros Occ. last June 28, 2015. One of the suspects was nabbed in a drug bust admitted participation to the murder. Four of the witnesses include a 12-year-old child.

The arrest of the suspects came exactly 30 days after the shooting.

An initial bounty of P2 Million from the Sangguniang Panlalawigan of Negros Occidental was offered to whoever can give information leading to the arrest of the suspects. This offer was increased to P2.5 Million to further hasten search for the killers.

BM Malabor and Jumilla were shot by a lone gunman while both were leaving the cockpit in Barangay Guintubhan in Isabela town, early morning of June 28 at about 1:00.

Senior Supt. Samuel Nacion, acting provincial director said that BM Malabor (5th District) and Jumilla were on their way to the former’s service vehicle, a Toyota Hi Lux when both were shot from behind.

Malabor Slay Case ‘Nears Solution’- Gov

Negros Occidental Governor Alfredo Marañon Jr., believes the solution to the murder of Board Member Renato Malabor will soon be realized.

Marañon yesterday said he does not see the ongoing investigation of both a police-led task force and the National Bureau of Investigation (NBI) as “slow.”

“It’s a complicated case,” he said.

He also maintains that the murder of Malabor is “politically motivated”.

The Governor did not comment if the two probe teams have been briefing him.

‘Shooting of Guard Near Isabela Mayor’s House Not Related to Malabor Slay Case’

A security guard was shot a few meters from the house of Isabela Mayor Enrique “Quito” Montilla III, at Barangay Rumirang at about 7:40 a.m yesterday.

Local police authorities were quick to say the incident is not related to the recent assassination of Provincial Board Member Renato Malabor.

Newly-installed Isabela town police chief , Senior Inspector Anthony Grande said yesterday’s shooting took place near Montilla’s house which is located along the main highway that serves as a shortcut from Hinigaran town to Isabela.
