Isabela Hopes for New PNP Chief, More Cops

Isabela Mayor Joselito Y. Malabor expressed optimism that his requests, for a new municipal police chief and for five additional policemen, will be granted in a few days.

Malabor, in a phone interview yesterday told NDB he already got positive response from P/S Supt. Rodolfo D. Castil, OIC-Provincial Police Director for Negros Occidental, on his request for or recommendation, to assign as Isabela PNP Chief of Police, Chief Inspector Jake Panagsagan Barila.

Malabor to Institutionalize Tigkakalag Fest

Isabela Mayor Joselito Malabor said yesterday, his adminstration will move for the institutionalization of the Tigkalalag Festival after what he claimed as the successful relaunching of the festival last October 31-November 2, 2017.

Tigkalalag Queen & Street Dance Winner to Represent Isabela in 2018 Panaad Festival

Isabela Mayor Joselito Malabor said, the winners in the street dance competition and in the Tigkalalag Queen pageant will represent the town in the upcoming Panaad Festival next year.

Malabor made this announcement after he decided to relaunch the Tigkalalag Festival on October 31 to November 2, 2017 with the theme “Renewing the unique culture of the Tigkalalag Festival.”

Barangays were clustered to seven groups will compete in the barangay category while six will compete in the school category for the Tigkalalag Street Dance contest.

Isabela's Nov. 1 & 2 Tigkalalag Festival to be Revived

Isabela residents are glad to know that their “Tigkalalag Festival” that used to be held every November 1 (All Saints’Day) & 2 (All Souls’ Day) will be revived starting this year.

Isabela Mayor Joselito Malabor yesterday said, the municipal government of Isabela will re-launch this year the Tigkalalag festival.

He said the festival made its mark during the Panaad festival in recent years.

The Tigkalalag festival was shelved in the last four years due to the change of local leadership in the town.
