The Office of the Ombudsman found Bacolod City Mayor Evelio Leonardia along with nine current and former city officials who have been ordered dismissed from the service after they were deemed guilty of grave misconduct and gross neglect of duty for the questionable procurement of P50 million in furnitures and fixtures for the local government center between 2008 and 2010, during Leonardia’s earlier term as city executive.

'Support Bacolod's 80th year activities'

Bacolod Mayor Evelio Leonardia urged members of the academe and stakeholders in the tourism industry to support the programs and activities of the City of Bacolod for its 80th anniversary.

Councilor Ang, PIO off to Korea re Art Olympics

Bacolod Councilor Em Ang and acting City Public Information Officer Danny Dangcalan are leaving for South Korea next week to attend the art exhibition as part of the Pyeongchang 2018 – Beijing 2022 Olympic and Paralympic Games, as per invitation of the International Mask Arts and Culture Organization (IMACO) based in South Korea, where the Pyeongchang 2018 Olympics is currently being held.

Leonardia shrugs off remarks on BREDCO

Mayor Evelio Leonardia just shrugged off the comment of Partylist Representative Stephen Paduano about the approval of the city on the option of BREDCO to manage the BREDCO Port for another 25 years. He said, “We are talking of the total development of Bacolod City. BREDCO has the right to enjoy its option to manage the port for another 25 years because it is stated in the contract.”
