SSA, UNO-R Share U17 Lead in DFL 3rd Conference
St. Scholastica’s Academy (SSA) and University of Negros Occidental-Recoletos (UNO-R) came out with huge games to remain undefeated in the Under 17 girls division to share the lead in the ongoing Dynamic Football League (DFL) 3rd Conference at the Panaad Park and Stadium in Bacolod City.
Defending U11 division champion Trinity Christian School (TCS) and reigning runner-up Don Bosco Technical Institute (DBTI)-Victorias blanked their respective opponents to post an unblemished 4-win record.
The Cokoy Treyes-mentored Trinity side dumped Montevista Elementary School in their last outing in Group A, 6-nil behind Dave Celis (5'), Syreal Xander Magbanua (11'), King James Montano (13' and 14'), Frank Labayen (38') and Ian Jhunraey Fegidero (40').
Also played huge performance in Group A is Carlo Torbela’s UNO-R team which crashed St. John’s Institute, 11-1 on goals from Mark Gabriel Cantos (1', 29' & 31'), Ruther Dominic Song (8', 37' & 40'), Edrian John Mayuga (10' & 27'), Jed Asher Quilantang (20' & 36') and Jefferson Tolimao (34') as Sarosa gave the Baby Falcons their lone goal in the 30th minute.
Meanwhile, Reymando Baldava’s Bosconian squad demolished their Sum-ag Elementary School counterparts in Group B, 12-nil. Scoring for the Victorias-based side are Paul Justine Juen (9', 12', 15' & 21'), Humphrey Bacatan (10', 28', 29' & 31') and Adrian Martin Padilla (5', 23' & 25'), and an own goal from Sum-ag squad.
For the U17 girls, SSA came out as a scoring machine when they nailed 21 goals to nothing against the Sum-ag ES. Leading SSA’s scoring spree are Nicole Carmena Gonzaga (1', 8', 18', 20' & 27') and Dominique Cajili (19', 27', 35', 42' & 59') alongside Jouie Erillo (2', 33' & 41'), Erica Jalandoni (10', 48' & 54'), Cathleen Kayley de Castillo (12' & 9'), Maikaela Yusay (24' & 25') and Maia Yusay (45').
The UNO-R side, on the other hand, survived University of St. La Salle – Integrated School, 2-1 to tie SSA at 2 wins apiece. Earlier, UNO-R also outplayed Sum-ag, 14-nil.
In the U15 boys, Dr. Vicente Gustilo continued to surge with a clean 5-0 slate following its 5-nil victory over SJI. Scoring for the Cadiz City ward are Marlon Consing (12'), Holden Tabiano (20'), Anthony Depamaylo (26'), John Rafael Escaro (38') and Lean Perez (58'). Supervising the competition is tournament chairman Andrew Infante alongside General Secretary Jaime Poderoso, Tournament Commissioner for Invitational Cup Robert Nene, and Tournament Commissioner for 3rd Conference Miguel Rivero.
