According to MBDJ-SICA district jail warden Engr. Larry Fuentes, they conduct random greyhound operations on selected dorms to eradicate contrabands inside the facility. The conduct of the random greyhound operation in selected dorms showed that we have almost eliminated some of the major contrabands in the facility, according to Fuentes.
MBDJ-SICA participated in the synchronized greyhound operations nationwide as an expression of transparency to avoid doubts among the public as part of the Oplan Linis Piitan.
The Oplan Linis Piitan in MBDJ-SICA last October 11 resulted in the confiscation of minor contrabands like lighters, metal ladle, belt and other ties, tin cans, scissors, glue gun, cigarettes, among others.
Jail Officer I and Information Officer Jasmin Batadlan has invited also members of the Philippine National Police, the Philippine Drug Enforcement Agency, the Philippine Information Agency and the media for transparency’s sake.
All 19 dorms inside the MBDJ with a total population of 716 PDLs were searched and undergone greyhound procedures.
“Our inmates here are really cooperative. So far, we have their participation and we conduct frequent dialogues with their representatives so any concern we know and act on it as soon as we can,” Batadlan. *(JCM/EAD-PIA6 Negros Occ.)
