BJMP Cadiz ‘Greyhound Operation’ Pares Negative Results
The “Oplan Greyhound Operation/Oplan Linis Piitan conducted at the facility of Cadiz City District Jail of Bureau of Jail Management & Penology (BJMP) Wednesday morning bared negative results, according to Jail Senior Inspector Ian Karl Niaga, the BJMP jail warden.
Cadiz City PNP joined the Oplan Greyhound/Oplan Linis Piitan conducted nationwide last October 11, 2017. The Oplan was supervised by PInsp. Alfred M. Garcia, Operation Officer under the direct supervision of PCInsp. Rocky Q. Desear, Acting Chief of Police. The operation was also witnessed by a representative from the media, Cyrus M. Garde of NDB/Happy Radio, DYAG, Barangay Kagawad John Nopueto and Reynaldo Dela Cruz of Brgy. Tinampaan. This activity was conducted by the Bureau of Jail Management and Penology headed by JSInsp. There is no illegal drugs found and other contrabands inside the BJMP. Niaga said this confirms that “BJMP-Cadiz is a drug-free facility.”
The Oplan was conducted to join the BJMP nationwide order of new BJMP chief and the Regional Director, Jail Chief Superintendent Diogracia Tabayan.
Only spoon and scissors were found during the operation. Niaga justified that the inmates are making “parol and other Christmas lanterns” as their source of livelihood inside the jail this Christmas.
Niaga also said that even without the national order, he conducts surprise operation every week. That keeps every inmate from entering contrabands; while visitors’ belongings are strictly being checked when visiting their jailed relative.
The Oplan Greyhound/Oplan Linis Piitan was witnessed by the local Philippine National Police under supervision of Police Chief Inspector Rocky Desear, the PDEA, Barangay Officials of Tinampaan in Cadiz City where the BJMP is located and a member of the media.*(CMGarde)
