Chu Lifts AACI Trading for 4th Win
Carlo Chu lifts AACI Trading to post its 4th straight victory with 31 points over Organic Solutions, 84-77, while JSY Countertrade hold off AACI Transport, 66-63, in the 2nd conference Fil-Sino All Asian Countertrade Inc. Inter-Color basketball tournament at the Po Hang Gym of BTTHS.
Chu scored 15 points in the 1st quarter for AACI Trading lead, 23-9 advantage while teammate Jan Jan Young added 2 triples.
Organic Solutions Julius Teruel and Dante Ma combined for 17 points to draw closer at the break, 39-31 even as Mark Binguan had 6 points for AACI Trading.
AACI Trading extended the lead anew to double digit to as high as 20 points as Vincent Tan, Chris Lim, Bren Tajonera and Chu conspired for 27 points and another teammate Ritchie Militante power plays netted him 10 points late in the quarter as they posted, 66-49 going to the 4th quarter.
Ma and Militante combined to launch a comeback and cut the deficit to 6 points with 40 seconds left in the game on a Militante put back.
Tan added 15 points behind Chu; Arvin Chua with 9 points; Tajonera with 7; while Chris Lim and Mark Binguan had 6 points each.
Militante poured in 23 points; Teruel added 16; Ma 15; Lito Dumdum with 7 points and Stephen Lacson shot 6.
In the other game, JSY Countertrade held a 46-37 advantage against AACI Transport going to the 4th quarter.
The AACI Transport rallied in the payoff quarter behind Michael Ang three triples and Derek Sibug 10 points to take the lead, 59-57, but JSY Countertrade frustrated the comeback as Alvin Dionela and Andy Tio made back- to- back triple to hold on for victory.
Tio scored 20 points for JSY Countertrade; Dionela added 13; Villanueva with 12 and Kako Lacson finished with 6.
