Modern Hospital Rising Soon in Victorias
A Memorandum of Agreement (MOU) aimed at establishing a modern hospital in Victorias City will be signed by the Government of Victorias and Memphis Mission of Mercy at 1 p.m. today, Oct. 9.
The proposed medical health facility will help provide advanced and state of the art modern technology beneficial to the people of Victorias and surrounding communities and other parts of the region.
The agreement to be held at the Victorias City Hall lobby, will be attended by various stakeholders, representatives of the Memphis Mission of Mercy, city and barangay officials and employees.
As stated in the MOU, Victorias City shall provide the site or two hectare lot for the hospital within the vicinity of new growth area where the City Coliseum and City Resort are located.
In addition, the proponent, Memphis Mission of Mercy shall provide special privileges to the residents of the city.
Memphis Mission of Mercy is a non-profit organization that has been conducting medical-surgical humanitarian missions to the Philippines and has conducted many mission trips to Victorias City for more than 10 years since 2001 through the late Mayor Remedios Palanca Bantug.
The founder and chairman of the Memphis Mission of Mercy, Renato Zalamea, is a Filipino nurse and anesthetist.
The Zalamea family has started the journey with the vision of a long term facility such as a surgical hospital and after extensive research has chosen Victorias as the beneficiary community.*(PR)
