Police raids house, firearms seized
Joint elements of the Criminal Investigation and Detection Group (CIDG)- Dumaguete City and Mabinay PNP raided a house in Sitio Tubod, Barangay Paniabonan, Mabinay town, Negros Oriental around 8 p.m. Saturday, and were able to confiscate firearms.
Police, however missed the suspect identified as Rolando Bacurnay after he sensed the approaching police operatives.
The search warrant issued by Judge Candelario Gonzales of the Regional Trial Court, Branch-45 in Bais City, was served by police operatives to the suspect’s live-in partner, witnessed by Village Chief Jerry Ducoy and Barangay Kagawad Joseph Jainar.
The arresting CIDG operatives were led by Chief Inspector Julius Garcia and personnel of Mabinay PNP, Negros Oriental Police Provincial Office and Regional Public Safety Battalion-7.
Confiscated by police operatives were, one caliber .45 pistol, three magazines of same caliber, 12 live bullets of a .45 caliber;
Fourteen live bullets of 5.56mm and 15 live bullets of caliber 40, a cal. 38 revolver.
The suspect was charged with violation of RA 10591.*
