50 SGs Occupy Sipalay Mine Site; Scrappers Arrested
About 50 security guards evicted from a mining company has intruded the G Holding Incorporated compound at 3:00 p.m. Saturday, located in Barangay San Jose, Sipalay City, Negros Occidental.
The intruders, in civilian attire and unarmed members of Radiant Security Agency previously assigned in the G Holding Incorporated mining arrived at Post No. 2 of the mine site.
According to Reynoel Tabligan, representative of GHI, they discovered the presence of guards around 8:00 p.m. already joining the members of National Mines Allied Workers Union (NAMAWU) led by Juanito Ricaforte occupying the warehouse and mill plant.
The former security guards were prevented by Ultra Fine Security hired by GHI posted in the area.
The mining company has labor dispute and has shut down.
Two persons, allegedly iron scrappers were arrested inside G Holding Incorporated mining compound in Barangay San Jose, Sipalay City around 2:00 p.m. Friday.
The suspects were identified as Ernesto Nadera Belleta, 55, widow, driver, of Barangay Balud, San Fernando, Cebu City and Junrey Caneliso Egloria, 38, welder, of General Climaco, Toledo City, Cebu.
Reynoel Tabligan, 56, G Holding representative, resident of Don Jesus Village, Barangay Canturay, Sipalay together with security guards from Ultra Fine Security Agency assigned at G-Holding minesite in Brgy. San Jose has endorsed to Sipalay police one unit color green Mini Bus with plate Number XAY 299 driven by Belleta along with Egloria.
They entered the compound without permission from the management, it was pointed out.
The vehicle is owned by Caritas Manila and Mr. Exequil De Gracia, Sr., 52, of Barangay Pitalo, San Fernando, Cebu. It was loaded with sets of cutting out pit to be used in cutting steel like hose for oxygen acetylene, hard band, steel shoes, gloves, cutting tapes and goggles.
According to Belleta, they were hired by Exequil De Gracia, Sr. to bring the steel cutting materials to the G Holding warehouse.
It was reported that the security guards manning their post did not notice a vehicle enter the warehouse on November 7 around 5:00 p.m. It was reported that they passed the minesite through a shortcut road in Sitio Patitio, Barangay San Jose, Sipalay City.
The two are detained at Sipalay City PNP and charged with violation of Article 281, another form of trespass.*
