Dr. Grace Tan of the CHO said dengue is largely a cleanliness issue where cases can reduce when people continually practice proper hygiene.
She urged the public to continue cleaning their surroundings and areas in and out of the house that are not usually reached.
Still the most effective approach to dengue prevention and reduction, she said, is to follow the 4S that stands for search & destroy mosquito breeding places; use self-protection measures; seek early consultation for fever lasting more than 2 days; and say no to indiscriminate fogging.* (JSC/Llj/PIA6 Negros Occ.)
