2 Sagaynons Hurt in Shooting
Two Sagay City residents were wounded after they were shot by unidentified suspects along the national highway of Barangay Poblacion 2 in the city at 9:50 p.m. Tuesday.
Chief Inspector Robert Mansueto, Sagay City police chief, identified the victims as Junry Honota Longno, 29, married, and Regie Ripdos Depenoso, 26, all of Purok Crisjun, Barangay Rafaela Barrera, Sagay City, Negros Occidental.
Police investigation disclosed that the two victims were having a drinking session at CARS Video with four other companions. Another three unidentified persons reportedly passed by and stopped at the bar to buy cigarettes.
The three unidentified suspects reportedly approached the group where a heated argument ensued and a commotion followed.
The three suspects ran but was chased by the group and caught up with them about 10 meters away from the bar.
The unidentified companion of the three arrived on a motorcycle and interferred and drew his firearm and shot the victims thrice.
Junrey Longno was hit in the head, while Regie Depenoso in his chest and his right shoulder. They were brought to nearby Lopez District Farmers Foundation Hospital, but Longno was transferred to Cadiz District Hospital, while Depenoso at Teresita Lopez Jalandoni Provincial Hospital in Silay City for further treatment.
Police is investigating the incident and now conducting police manhunt against the suspects.*
