Events: New Year’s Countdown
The Bacolod City New Year’s Party at the new government center (NGC) on December 31 will be highlighted by a countdown a minute before midnight, followed with fireworks display.

Local News: Traffic Rerouting Dec. 31 and January 1 at NGC Area
Traffic re-routing will be implemented on December 31st and January 1st, in anticipation of the New Year’s Eve Countdown and the still heavy traffic the very next day.
The Circumferential Road passing the Bacolod City Government Center, from Mansilingan Road to corner Lopue’s - East & Circumferential Road will be on a one-way scheme (South to North) and then will be totally closed to traffic at 6:00 PM on the 31st. Traffic enforcers will be stationed all around the government center, its entrance and exit points.
Traffic enforcers will also be stationed along the circumferential Road: at the entrance and exit of Lopue’s and at the entrance to Las Palmas Subd.

Sports: 1st Fun Match and Dog Show Set Sunday at NGC
All dog breeders will have a chance to show how their dogs perform in the 1st Fun Match All Breed Dog Show and Obedience Competition will be held on December 16, 2012 starting 5pm at the New Government Center.
The organizer, the Paws For A While-Bacolod will hold this competition in an advocacy to educate dog owners on how to treat and teach dogs considered as "man’s best friend."
Not only competition of different breed dogs will be held but also the organizers were encouraged to conduct immunization and learn the treatment for dogs when they are not feeling well. This will give some points for neophyte breeders and owners how to breed dogs, be it locally bred or homegrown ones.
Events: City College Holds its Foundation Day Celebration from Dec. 11 to 16
Bacolod City College (BCC), leading officials, teachers, students and staff are all excited and anticipating another successful celebration of their Foundation Day, its 15th, on Dec. 11 to l6, 2012.
The college was created on April 10, 1997 via an ordinance passed by the City Council in its regular session on that same day, according to the College’s Administrator, Dr. Johanna Bayoneta.
The occasion was originally celebrated every September of each year but, because the Bay Center is being renovated, they had to move the observance of the day to Dec. ll until Dec, 16, the yaar.
Local News: Christmas Lights Up at the Bacolod City Government Center
Bacolod City Mayor Evelio Leonardia and DepEd Supt. of Schools Gemma Ledesma, together with Vice Mayor Jude Thaddeus Sayson; councilors Homer Basis, Bobby Rojas, Em Ang, and Caesar Distrito; with City Administrator John Orola, switched on the simple but elegant Christmas lights strung at the facade of the majestic Bacolod City Government Center ushering in the Yuletide season last Saturday evening.
The Christmas lights on was done as a special segment of the 61st Teachers’ Day Celebration attended by more than 2,500 public school teachers, principals and DepEd local administrators.
Local News: Tonight’s ‘Moments to Remember’ at NGC Expects a Big, Big Crowd
The jointly-sponsored Dinner For A Cause presentation of "Moments To Remember" tonight through Mayor Evelio "Bing" Leonardia and Y’s Men’s International Philippines at the Bacolod City New Gov’t Center is expected to be attended by a big crowd, according to Marites Era, in-charge of the DSSD Emergency Assistance Fund. There shall be the Association of Judges members, Philippine Legions representatives, the Paglaum Convenor Association members, private sector members and city officials, Era revealed.
Local News: Traffic Gridlock Could Partially Ease This Week
The traffic gridlock is expected to ease this week with the opening of the newly-finished and opened portion of the highway from the entrance to the New Government Center (NGC) or city hall to the crossing of the Lopue’s East or Grace Drugstore area, on the left side of the viewer’s left facing the South direction. This is the portion of the Circumferential highway which the Silver Dragon Construction Company of businessman Jerry Sy has quickly worked on, highly-reliable sources said.

South African Ambassadress to the Philippines, her excellency Agnes Nyamande-Pitso, was the special guest of honor in the recent Cebu Institute of Medicine Alumni Association, Negros Occidental Chapter, dinner symposium at the Bacolod City New Gov’t Center especially welcomed by Mayor Evelio "Bing" Leonardia.
Events: GMA Stars Joining 2012 MassKara Logo Unveiling Tomorrow
Four artists of GMA TV will grace the unveiling of the 2012 MassKara Festival logo at the Bacolod Government Center grounds at 6 p.m. tomorrow (Tuesday, July 10), festival director Eli Tajanlangit said.
GMA stars Ryza Cenon, Mike Tan, Jaya, and Mark Bautista will hold a show immediately after the presentation of the MassKara logo and the artists, Dado Tan, GMA’s assistant program manager for regional TV, said.
