Events: Cheer Dance Tilt Ends Police Mini Olympics
The exciting and full of fun Cheer Dance competition was the final activity and highlight of the 2012 Police Regional Office 6 Mini Olympics before the weekend. Four PNP Units, such as PRO 6 headquarters in yellow gold, Iloilo Provincial Police Office in green, Iloilo City Police Office in blue, and Guimaras Provincial Police Office in red, who filled the grounds of PRO 6 Headquarters at Camp Delgado, Iloilo City.

The Inter-PNP unit Cheer Dance Competition has officially culminated the
Police Regional Office 6 Mini Olympics 2012 yesterday afternoon (June 21) at the
PRO6 parade grounds, Camp Martin Teofilo B Delgado, Fort San Pedro, Iloilo City.
The activity was participated by 4 PNP units namely, the Police Regional Office
6 Headquarters in yellow-gold uniform as the Champion, Iloilo Provincial Police
Office in green uniform as 1st runner up, Iloilo City Police Office in blue
uniform as 2nd runner up and the Guimaras Provincial Police Office in red
uniform as 3rd runner up. It was followed by an awarding ceremony, in which the
PRO 6 Headquarters was declared as the over-all champion for PRO 6 Mini Olympics

Local News: DSWD R-G Release P26.6M Social Pension
Some 15,743 senior citizens in Western Visayas were able to avail of P26.6 milllion for their social pension from the Department of Social Welfare and Development (DSWD) Region 6, wherein the highest beneficiaries are from Iloilo followed by Negros Occidental.

Events: PRO6 Collects 47,252 cc Blood During V-Day
A total of 47,250 cc of blood were collected from 105 donors in two separate blood-letting activities Tuesday, Valentine’s Day.
At the Police Regional Office 6 (PRO6) headquarters, 27,450 cc of blood were collected from 61 donors and 19,800 cc were collected from donors in Antique Police Provincial Office.
For several years now, it has been the practice of PRO6 to hold the blood donation campaign during Valentine’s Day.
Local News: 6.9-Quake Hits Negros Island; Death Toll Rises, Several Missing
A 6.9 magnitude earthquake hit Negros Island at 11:49 a.m. yesterday, with its shock waves reverberating through other islands in the Visayas, and killing more than a dozen people and many more missing, authorities said.
The quake, with its epicenter off the waters of Tayasan town in Negros Oriental with a depth of 10 kilometers, also damaged at its height the neighboring province of Negros Occidental, and neighboring islands Panay, Guimaras, and Cebu.
Hanah Jins Shines in Iloilo Dinagyang Taekwondo
The Hanah Taekwondo squad had another win topping the recent Dinagyang National Taekwondo tournament held at Ateneo de Iloilo in Iloilo City recently.

The victorious Hanah Taekwondo team from Bacolod City in the Dinagyang National Taekwondo tournament held at Ateneo de Iloilo last Saturday. With them are Iloilo Vice mayor Jose Espinosa and PBA Partylist Representative. Hanah Taekwondo team is coach by Vic Feria.*

2 Most Wanted Guimarasnon Brothers Nabbed in Bacolod City
Two of the Most Wanted Persons in Guimaras province, reportedly brothers, were hooked in Bacolod City in two separate operations conducted by elements of the Guimaras Provincial Police Office Special Operations Group (SOG) led by PInsp. Rolando D. Arano with the assistance of Police Station 2 and 3 of Bacolod City Police Office and members of the Negros Provincial Police Office.
Pacquiao, Yap Set to grace WVRAA Opening on March 12
The 2012 Western Visayas Regional Athletic Association (WVRAA) hosted by the province of Negros Occidental on March 12 to 16 will have the most significant opening ceremony on March 12; with either one of the two famous athletes the country had will be the guest on opening day at Panaad Park and Sports Stadium in Barangay Mansilingan, Bacolod City.

This year’s Western Visayas Regional Athletic Association Meet will be held on March 12-16, 2012 to be hosted by the Province of Negros Occidental.
It was finalized during the Technical Management Conference held at the Governor’s Hall, Provincial Capitol, yesterday, attended by sports heads, coordinators, and Department of Education personnel representing the six provinces of Western Visayas.
It was presided by DepEd Regional Office VI Director, Mildred L. Garay.
