Local News: ‘Sexually-Molested’ Woman Stabs Attacker
A 39-year old woman in Murcia who was sexually-molested stabbed her attacker about 8 p.m., Sunday.
Senior Police Officer 2 Jovito Tejado, Murcia Police Station duty investigator identified the victim as Jun Retiro, 31, of Purok Shell, Brgy. Salvacion who sustained two stab wounds in the upper back portion of his body.
The woman whose identity is withheld by NDB voluntarily turned herself in to local police. She told probers that she wanted to retaliate against her molester. Follow-up investigation on the incident is underway.
Local News: ‘Sloshed’ Man Shoots Passerby
While issues are being debated about whether to allow civilians ownership of a gun, an incident relative to this occurred earlier this week involving a person who shot a passerby without apparent reason while reportedly under the influence of liquor in Sagay City, Negros Occidental.
Police arrested Norberto Alarcon Jr., 33, of Purok Mangingisda, Brgy. Himogaan, Sagay City following a pursuit operation after he allegedly shot a passerby identified as Rey Arevalo, 40, also of the same place using an improvised shotgun.
Investigation said, the suspect appeared to be drunk and shoot at somebody who happened to pass in front of him.
Local News: CIDG Nabs Man in a Series of Rob, Killings
Personnel of the Criminal Investigation and Detection Group (CIDG), Sunday afternoon arrested one of the suspects in a series of robbery and homicide cases at Brgy. Alicante in EB Magalona town, Negros Occ.
PCInsp. Criscenciano Cordero, CIDG head with his men arrested Ruben Estilloso at abou 4:30p.m. for charges of homicide. The suspect is also reportedly involved in a series of killings and robbery hold-ups in the area of Silay, Victorias and Cadiz City and EB Magalona along with his brother Wilfredo and other suspects who are presently at-large.

This was stressed by P-Noy to Mayor Bing as he said, “You are my friend. Your loss is also my loss”.
Andy Leonardia was found dead inside his room in his son’s Silay City residence past 9 in the morning Saturday with a gunshot wound in the head.
According to Mayor Leonardia, P-Noy told him that he sympathizes with the family and pointed out it was indeed a difficult time for them. Leonardia said that President Aquino told him twice, “anything you need, just give me a call.”
Local News: SP Sympathizes with Leonardia’s Grief
The Sangguniang Panlungsod of Bacolod City through Vice Mayor Jude Thaddeus Sayson, condoled and expressed sympathy over the grief of the family of Bacolod City Mayor Evelio Leonardia for the demise of his elder brother, the late Andy Leonardia, who was reportedly found dead in his room the other day.
As chairman of the Nationalist People’s Coalition (NPC)/Grupo Progreso, Vice Mayor Sayson said, “Andy’s demise is a great loss to the party, his being a candidate for councilor of Bacolod City. We have established close rapport being together in almost all Christmas parties in the barangays of Bacolod during the just concluded Yuletide Season.”
Local News: Bacolod Mayor’s Brother Found Dead
Police authorities in Silay City are conducting follow-up investigation to discount the possibility of foul play in the death of Bacolod City Mayor’s brother who was found dead in his residence at JH Del Pilar Subd., Brgy. 5 in the City.
PSupt. Rosauro Francisco Jr., police chief reported Andy Leonardia, 62, widower, of Brgy. 5, Silay City was discovered dead inside his room allegedly hit by a bullet on the head.
Francisco, with members of the Scene of the Crime Operatives led the investigation and which according to Leonardia’s driver; the victim was placing his gun on the bed when it accidentally fired hitting him on the head.
Local News: Woman Shot Several Times at her Home
Police authorities in La Castellana town are in pursuit operation to arrest the gunman who shot a 22-year old woman inside her home at Kasilingan Village, Brgy. Robles.
Initial investigation revealed that Cristy Florendia was shot several times hitting her on different parts of her body. She was with her friend Kim Harrold Ruales sitting on a bamboo couch inside the house when an unidentified suspect fired against her using a .45 caliber pistol.
Local News: ‘Thieves’ Fall to Bacolod Cops
Two suspected thieves were arrested yesterday by elements of Bacolod City Police Office (BCPO) in separate operations.
Police Station 1 (PS1) led by PCInsp. Adonis Rosales apprehended Sally Descatin, 58, of Brgy. 27 after she was identified through the closed-circuit television (CCTV) at a restaurant inside the mall where the incident happened.
Local News: Homicide Complaint Filed by Lawan Family Against Breakaway Transport Leader
The Lawan family whose patriarch and main breadwinner Ricardo Lawan died in a vehicular accident more than a week ago, after he was bumped by Sentrong Samahan ng Mga Tsuper at Opereytors sa Negros Occidental (SSTONE), Secretary-General Jessie Ortega, has filed a homicide with reckless imprudence complaint with the City Prosecutor’s Office to ensure justice for themselves.
In a radio interview with Aksyon Radyo last week, Chief Insp. Luisito Acebuche, said the family has decided to file a complaint after Ortega did not make good on his commitment to provide material and monetary benefits consistent with the death of their family member.
Local News: Brgy. Tanod Slain Inside House; Ex-NPA Squad Leader Falls
A barangay tanod in Victorias City was reportedly shot dead inside his own home, Tuesday evening by unidentified suspect.Local police authorities identified the victim as Sonny Barnuevo, 42, of Sitio Overflow, Hacienda Tizon, Brgy. II and a barangay tanod in the area sustained multiple gunshot wounds on the front right portion of the body which resulted to his death. The suspect allegedly used a shotgun when he attacked the victim while asleep inside their house.
Barnuevo was pronounced dead by attending physician at Victorias City Hospital while pursuit operation is being conducted to apprehend the suspect and charged with criminal case.
Meanwhile, a resident of Brgy. Guimbalaon in Silay City and believed to be a former member of the New People’s Army (NPA) was collared early this week for alleged illegal possession of firearms by elements of the city police led by PO3 Randy G. Azuro.
