A Woman Electrocuted in ‘Dolid

A 20-year old woman was reportedly electrocuted about 12:35PM, Saturday at their house in Brgy. Bayabas, Valladolid town.

Grace Mediavilla, 20, was found by her mother Myrna lying on the ground with burns on her right arm and believed to be electrocuted. She was rushed to Valladolid District Hospital but was declared dead by attending physicians.

In a separate report, a farmer was collared for illegal possession of fragmentation grenade.

Sachets of Shabu Seized in Silay

Several sachets of suspected shabu were confiscated in a raid conducted, Wednesday afternoon at Antonio Luna Interior, Brgy. Mambulac in Silay City.

Initial investigation said the illegal drugs were confiscated from Carlo Postrado alias Balut, 45, by local police authorities. Seized from his possession were; one small sachet and two elongated sachets of suspected shabu and P500 cash.

Criminal charges for violation of Republic Act (RA) 9165 or the Comprehensive Dangerous Drugs Act of 2002. He is detained at Silay City Police Station.

Embalmer ‘Hangs’ Self

The body of a 40-year old embalmer and resident of Brgy. Taloc, Bago City who works at the RS Funeral Homes was discovered hanging inside his workplace about 1:30PM, Tuesday.

Police identified the body as that of Abelardo Achevar which was found suspended inside the funeral homes with the use of a nylon cord located at Sitio Calumpang, Brgy. Poblacion in Cauayan town. Post mortem examination was requested by the Municipal Health Officer.

PO2 Ryan Joseph S. Bico, police investigator is looking into the angle of a misunderstanding between Achevar and his relationship.

Bombs, Shotgun Recovered in Negros Occidental

Two vintage bombs and a pistolized shotgun were recovered in various areas in Negros Occidental over the weekend.

A pistolized shotgun was found by residents of Dump Site area in Brgy. 2, Pontevedra town. The firearm was found about 6AM, Sunday and was turned over to Pontevedra Police Station.

Meanwhile, one of the two vintage bombs was recovered from a sand and gravel stockyard owned by Jerry Young, 38, of Rizal highway, Brgy. 5 in Silay City.
