Local News: MC-Riders Shot Silaynon Dead
Police authorities in Silay City are in pursuit of motorcycle-riding suspects who gunned down a 25-year old resident of Employee Subdisvion, Brgy. Mambulac at about 10 p.m. Monday.
Floryn Arevalo alias Bebe was shot by two unidentified persons riding a motorcycle. The victim sustained multiple gunshot wounds on his body from a .40 caliber pistol.
Recovered from the crime scene were five fired cartridges of the same caliber. Probers are conducting follow-up investigation to determine the motive of the incident and for possible arrest of the suspects.

Local News: Sagay Cops Hunt 3 Stab Suspects
Three stab suspects are being pursued by police authorities in Sagay City after they allegedly attacked two brothers at about 11PM, along Sitio Inangtan, Brgy. Makiling.
Police identified the victim as Carlos Recale Jr., alias Jojo, 31, who sustained multiple stab wounds in the chest and back inflicted by suspects namely; alias Cocoy and Julius Blanco and a certain alias Jojo Lumayno.
Local News: Escalante Man Turn Over Gun to Cops
A revolver was voluntarily turned-over to police authorities in Escalante City through the station’s balik baril program.
Armando Lausa, 42, of Purok Bayong, Brgy. Balintawak endorsed a homemade caliber .38 without serial number, recently following a pulong-pulong at the said barangay.
Over in Victorias City, PSupt. Santiago Y. Rapiz, police chief led the arrest of Enrique Palma Jr., 28, of Hacienda Gloria 1, Brgy. 13, for illegal possession of firearms and ammunitions.
Local News: Father, Son Fall in Heist
A father and son tandem was reportedly robbed by four unidentified persons, recently who waylaid them at Crossing Sitio Sambag, Brgy. Mangahoy, La Castellana town.
Police report said Richel Abendan, 23, and his father, Reynaldo, 57, of Brgy. Biak na Bato were on their way to Hacienda Taborda from their home on board a motorcycle when blocked by the suspects who declared hold-up.
The older Abendan attempted to get away from the group when one of the suspects shot him at the back and robbed him of his P1, 000 cash. The suspects immediately left the scene.
Meanwhile, Reynaldo Abendan was brought to Isabela District Hospital and later transferred to Corazon Locsin Montelibano Memorial Regional Hospital for further treatment.
Local News: Family Nabbed for Frustrated Murder
A family of four was arrested about 6:30AM, Thursday by police authorities in San Carlos City for their alleged involvement in a frustrated murder case.
PSupt. Joseph B. Bayan, acting police chief and his team effected the arrest of 75-year old Julian Villasan, his wife, Lourdes, 70, and sons, Melchor and Eduardo, 37, and 34, respectively, all residents of Barrio Dos, Brgy. Gua-dalupe through an arrest warrant issued by Regional Trial Court (RTC) Branch 59 Judge Danilo R. Amisola.
The warrant was issued on November 26, 2012 and Judge Amisola recommended bail for P200,000 each.
The suspects are temporarily detained at San Carlos City Police Station and will be turned over to the custody of the Bureau of Jail Management and Penology (BJMP) facility.
Local News: Women Using Fake Bills Face Raps
Criminal charges for alleged use of fake bills will be filed against two women arrested earlier this week by elements of Police Station 1 (PS1) - Bacolod City Police Office in Brgy. 35.
Police authorities ready the case for violation of Article 168 of the Revised Penal Code or illegal possession and use of false treasury or bank notes and other instruments of credit against Mary Joy Badonio, 23, of Purok 6, Magsungay, and 60-year old Helen dela Cruz, of Purok 4, Brgy. Singcang-Airport.
Badonio and dela Cruz were apprehended following the complaint lodged by Alien Adle, store owner where the suspects reportedly used the counterfeit bills in exchange for goods.
Local News: Man Fished Out of Cadiz Waters
The body of a reported diver was fished out of Cadiz City waters about 7:30AM, Wednesday and a nautical mile from Himoga-an River in Sagay City.
Police identified the victim as Alesio Amagos, 60, widower and a resident of Purok Magay, Brgy. Tangkig, Talisay City, Cebu. The victim sustained a single wound on the forehead when found floating in the waters.
Initial investigation disclose the victims two companions alleged that they were trying to salvage a sunken vessel when one of them asked the victim to get a clay-mixed-cement to patch the holes when the victim accidentally lost his footing and hit his head. They also claimed that the victim died on the spot.
The body was brought to Linile Funeral Parlor in Sagay City for post mortem examination.
Local News: Cops Seize ‘Shabu’ in 2 Raids
Several sachets of suspected shabu and marijuana were confiscated in two separate raids conducted by operatives of Sagay City and Binalbagan Police through the Philippine National Police (PNP) campaigns against the proliferation of illegal drugs in the province.
PCInsp. Edel Jose Manzano, Sagay City Police chief and his team effected the search and seizure operation at the house of Ferdinand Fernandez, 38, at Hacienda Helen, Purok 9 in Brgy, Poblacion 1.
Local News: Village Head Denies Cop ‘Pulling Out’ Gun
After days of being tried by media, a police officer who allegedly threatened a basketball opponent by pulling out his gun before a Lupong Tagapamayapa hearing, Friday last week was relieved to learn that their village head supported his denial of pulling out his service firearm.
Alfredo Talimodao, Brgy. Granada captain in an interview with NDB said there was no pulling out of gun and no aiming it against anyone, following the reports that SPO1 Roberto Arrazola assigned at Police Assistance Center, Negros Occidental Police Provincial Office (NOPPO) doing such in front of many people inside the session hall.
The incident happened June 7, 2013 when Arrazola attended the inquiry before the Lupong Tagapamayapa straight from his duty at NOPPO and rather going home straight to change his clothes, went to attend the hearing instead.
