NPA Slams Killing of Bayan Muna Organizer, Other Civilians

The New People’s Army-Leonardo Panaligan Command (NPA-LPC) keeps blaming the Armed Forces of the Philippine (AFP) and the Philippine National Police (PNP) for the killing of civilians in Guihulngan City in Negros Oriental.

In a statement to the media, Ka JB Regalado, LPC spokesperson said, innocent civilians are now getting the brunt of the “revenge” of the military and the police for the ambush last month that killed a police chief and five other cops of Guihulngan.

Aying Thumbs Down NPA Ambush Victory Claim

Major General Jon Aying, 3rd Infantry Division commander based in Jamindan, Capiz downplayed the claim of New People’s Army (NPA) that their ambush of Guihulngan City policemen in Sitio Mandi-i, Barangay Magsaysay, Guihulngan, Negros Oriental “was a victory for the people”.

In an interview with Sagay City-based Hapi Radio dyAG, Aying said their (NPA) claim that it was the victory of the people “is contradicting their own cause and motives”.

Suspect in Mabinay Police Shooting Still Unknown

A neophyte police officer of Mabinay Police Station in Negros Oriental was found dead with gunshot wound in the head around 3:30 a.m. Wednesday along the National Highway at Purok 1, Barangay Poblacion, Mabinay town, Negros Occidental.

The victim was identified as PO1 Jay Ramel Nogra, 28, of Barangay Poblacion, Mabinay.

He has a gunshot wound in the head and was brought to Mabinay Community Hospital but was transferred to Medical Center Hospital where he was declared dead on arrival.

Driver Nabbed in Buy Bust

A drug suspect was arrested in a buy bust operation in Barangay 2 in Siaton town, Negros Oriental around 1:30 p.m. Friday.

Siaton police identified the suspect as Roberto Kinkito Amamangpang, 59, married, driver, of Barangay Malabuhan, Siaton.

Confiscated from him was one small sachet of suspected shabu in exchange of P500 marked money.

He is detained and charged with violation of RA 9165.*




Farmer Wounded in Shooting

A farmer was wounded when shot in the legs by unidentified suspect in Barangay Mangoto, Pamplona town, Negros Oriental around 4:45 p.m. Friday.

Pamplona PNP identified the victim as Edward Ramirez Toledo, 50, married, resident of the place.

He sustained two gunshot wounds on his right legs.

Police said, the victim was pasturing his carabao when shot by unidentified suspect wearing bonnets and black shirt.

He was immediately rushed to the nearest hospital, while Pamplona police is still investigating.*(CMG)
