3 killed in separate mishaps

Three persons were killed in separate traffic accidents in Himamaylan City and Bago City on Saturday; and in Moises Padilla on Friday.

Police identified the victims as Rodolfo Boga Cangayda, 26, of Ilog town in Negros Occidental; Vicente Bebar Dizon, 43, married, of Purok Bagong Silang, Barangay Ma-ao, Bago and Randy Belarga Martinez, 22, single, driver of motorcycle in Moises Padilla.

Police Chief Inspector Antonio Benitez, Jr., Himamaylan PNP chief said that incident happened at Bangga 3C, Barangay IV, Himamaylan 8:20 p.m. Saturday.

Suspect husband nabbed for killing wife

A husband who killed his wife Sunday in Sitio Sambag, Barangay Camandag, La Castellana, Negros Occ. was arrested by police in Moises Padilla town Tuesday.

The suspect was arrested at the house of his aunt, Elsie Sion at Hacienda San Reneo, Barangay Crossing Magallon, Moises Padilla through the information given by Barangay Kagawad Eduard Sion, also a relative of the suspect.

The suspect was identified by Police Chief Inspector Irma Teoxon as Juanito Sion Legaspi, 51, married, of Sitio Odiong, Brgy. Camandag, La Castellana.

Former Moises Padilla Mayor faces graft raps for lying in SALN

The Office of the Ombudsman has found probable cause to charge before the Sandiganbayan a former Negros Occidental town mayor for failing to disclose two business interests in his Statements of Assets, Liabilities, and Net Worth (SALNs) from 2007 to 2010.

The Ombudsman indicted former Moises Padilla Mayor Francisco Nazareno for four counts of violation of Section 8 of Republic Act 6713, or the “Code of Conduct and Ethical Standards for Public Officials and Employees,” and two counts of violation of Section 3(h) of RA 3019, or the “Anti-Graft and Corrupt Practices Act”.

Man commits suicide after stabbing wife, 2 others

A man stabbed his wife and two others who tried to pacify him in Sitio Exodus, Barangay Crossing Magallon, Moises Padilla town around 2:15 p.m. Tuesday.

Police Chief Inspector Allan Reloj, Moises Padilla PNP OIC police chief identified the suspect as Rogelio Villa Esteva Buenafe, 53, married, farmer, resident of the place.

After hacking his wife identified as Regina Dollente Buenafe, 44, he also stabbed two other persons identified as Vicente Ignacio Amar, Jr. and Rafael Maramara Racal, 30, both residents of the place, who tried to pacify.
