Vice Mayor nabbed with firearms, shabu

The vice mayor of Moises Padilla town was arrested along with her husband in a checkpoint in Barangay Crossing Magallon in the town and confiscated with firearms, grenades and shabu past 6 p.m. Tuesday.

Police Senior Inspector Allan Reloj, Moises Padilla PNP chief said Vice Mayor Ella Celestina Garcia Yulo, 43, of Moises Padilla was handcuffed along with her husband after their arrest but not without resistance from her despite introducing herself.

4 Killed, 2 Injured in Family Feud

Four persons were killed and two others were injured when two families clashed at Quezon Street in Barangay 1 Poblacion, in Barangay 4 in Moises Padilla town, which started Tuesday night and ended yesterday morning.

Police Chief Inspector Allan Reloj, Moises Padilla PNP chief, identified the victims as Kerwin Labiga Royo, 22; Kagawad Ernesto “Estoy” Royo, 56, of Barangay 1, uncle of Kerwin; James Labiga, 28, “Alias Saycan” of Barangay 1 and 5-year-old Michael John Mirano of Barangay 4.

Moises Padilla ‘Boycotts’ Panaad

Moises Padilla town will boycott this year’s edition of the Panaad Festival in Bacolod City set to kick-off tomorrow, April 22.

Ma. Lina Sanogal, Festival Director yesterday said that the municipal government has not yet informed the provincial government the reason why they won’t join the celebration.

“We did not receive any letter from them but the town’s representatives informed us that they will not open their pavillion nor participate in any competition.

Man overran by cargo truck dies

A man standing at the back of a cargo truck was killed when he was overran by it as it changed gear to reverse motion in Sitio Coyaoyao in the barangay road of Barangay Inolingan, Moises Padilla around 7:00 p.m. Wednesday. The area is mountainous and dark.

The victim was identified as Mark Jhon Villanueva, 22, single, of Purok Sambag, Barangay Inolingan, Moises Padilla. He was fatally bumped by the rear tire of the cargo hitting him on the head.

Moises Padilla ABC Pres resigns

The president of the Association of Barangay Captains (ABC) in the municipality of Moises Padilla has resigned.

This was confirmed by Mark Garcia to Radyo Bandera-Bacolod yesterday.

Garcia said he resigned from his post as barangay captain of Brgy. 1, Moises Padilla.

Garcia is the brother of Vice Mayor Ella Garcia-Yulo.

Citing stress at work aggravating an existing ailment, he said he filed his letter of resignation to office of Mayor Magdaleno Peña last December 22 and has confirmed that the Mayor has already signed and approved it.
