Man Seized with Shabu

Police authorities arrested a suspicious-looking person roaming near the oil depots in Amlan town in Negros Oriental around 8:15 p.m. Monday along the national highway in Barangay Tandag in the town.

Police arrested Arturo Semetera Povadora, 42, single, jobless, of Barangay Looc in Dumaguete City, Negros Oriental.

A concerned citizen reported to Amlan PNP that a person is acting suspiciously near the Chevron and Fil Oil depots in the area.

Povadora was wearing a sweatshirt with hood, hat and sling bag.

1 Killed, Another Hurt in Crash

The backrider of a motorcycle was killed while its driver was injured when it hit a vehicle along McKinley Street in front of Gate 4 of St. Francis Subdivision in Barangay 5, Silay City around 8:25 a.m. last Tuesday.

Rico Delogar Aguirre, 48, of Hacienda San German, Silay City reportedly expired at Corazon Locsin Montelibano Memorial Regional Hospital due to head and body injuries.

Earlier, they were brought to Teresita Jalandoni Provincial Hospital in Silay City but was transferred to CLMMRH in Bacolod City.

Drug Suspect Nabbed with Shabu, Bullets

A drug suspect was arrested in drug bust and confiscated suspected shabu and firearm at Barangay 1-B in Manapla town, Negros Occidental around 3:10 a.m. Tuesday, June 13.

Chief Inspector Edencio Gregorio, Manapla PNP chief identified the suspect as Zaldy Soriaga Yee, 33, married, resident of Montinola Street, Barangay 3, Victorias City.

Confiscated from him are three pieces big elongated heat sealed suspected shabu, including the buy bust item in exchange of P500 marked money which they also recovered, and three live bullets of .38 caliber firearm.*(CMG)


Motorcycle Driver Dies, Backrider Hurt in Crash

The driver of a motorcycle died and his backrider injured when they collided with a private vehicle in the national highway of Barangay Caliban, Murcia town around 2:30 a.m. Wednesday.

Police Senior Inspector Ryan Santillan identified the victim as Jan Rey Manzo Canillan, 19, single, resident of Purok Indian Mango, Barangay Lopez Jaena, Murcia town, in Negros Occ.. He sustained head and body injuries and was rushed to Corazon Locsin Montelibano Memorial Regional Hospital where he was declared dead on arrival.
