2 Killed, 6 Hurt in ‘Strafing’

This was how Cadiznons here describe the killing of two residents, including a minor girl, and wounding of 6 others when strafed by Army soldiers who are members of Charlie Company of the 62nd Infantry Battalion at Tabanao-Banquerohan Bridge, Barangay Banquerohan, this city, at about 4:15 a.m. yesterday.

2 Wanted Persons Nabbed in Cadiz

Two wanted persons hiding for 10 years for the crime of attempted murder, were arrested in Purok Kalubihan and Proper in Barangay Luna in Cadiz City Thursday afternoon.

Police Chief Inspector Rocky Desear, OIC police chief of Cadiz, identified the suspects as Jose Bonda Portuguez, Jr., 44, “Alyas Cano”, and Rolando Ligasan Bermejo, 48, “Alias Bogrong”, both married of Purok Kalubihan & Proper in Barangay Luna, Cadiz.

Jerusalem Resident Found Dead Floating in River

A sugar cane farm worker was found dead floating in Paniqui-on River in Barangay Jerusalem in Cadiz City, Negros Occidental around 2:30 in the afternoon Friday.

Chief Inspector Rocky Desear, Cadiz PNP OIC chief, identified the victim as Roger Gale Daytik, 43, married of Purok Sto. Nino in Barangay Jerusalem, Cadiz.

Based on the report of his wife, the victim acted strangely since July 30, claiming he was being followed by unidentified persons.

Cadiz Police Arrests Three Wanted Persons

Three wanted persons were arrested by joint elements of Cadiz Intelligence operatives; the 1st Maneuver Company of the Regional Public Safety Battalion-18 in Villa Luisa Relocation Site, Barangay Luna around 6:30 p.m. Tuesday.

Police Chief Inspector Rocky Desear, OIC police chief identified the suspects as Joemarie Delfinado Ejido, 40, married; his brothers Jessie, 37, married; and Carlos, 44, married – all of the same barangay.

Handog Titulo Program

Handog Titulo beneficiaries from Brgy. Colonia Divina, Sagay City received their Free-Patent title in the “Handog Titulo Program” which was held on July 21, 2017 at Brgy. Colonia Divina, Sagay City. Patents distribution is a yearly event by DENR to highlight the need to continue identifying and fasttrack land titling of A and D to the beneficiaries. The distribution of patents was awarded by the OIC, Provincial Environment and Natural Resources Officer Edgardo M. Rostata, OIC, CENR Officer Renato Sabinian, Registry of Deeds Admin. Aide VI Edgar Jerez and with the support of Sagay City Mayor Thirdy Marañon, SP members and Barangay Officials. A total of 157 patents were distributed and awarded to the fortunate beneficiaries of the said barangay.
