2 Killed, 6 Hurt in ‘Strafing’

This was how Cadiznons here describe the killing of two residents, including a minor girl, and wounding of 6 others when strafed by Army soldiers who are members of Charlie Company of the 62nd Infantry Battalion at Tabanao-Banquerohan Bridge, Barangay Banquerohan, this city, at about 4:15 a.m. yesterday.

BJMP Cadiz ‘Greyhound Operation’ Pares Negative Results

The “Oplan Greyhound Operation/Oplan Linis Piitan conducted at the facility of Cadiz City District Jail of Bureau of Jail Management & Penology (BJMP) Wednesday morning bared negative results, according to Jail Senior Inspector Ian Karl Niaga, the BJMP jail warden.


Cadiz City PNP joined the Oplan Greyhound/Oplan Linis Piitan conducted nationwide last October 11, 2017. The Oplan was supervised by PInsp. Alfred M. Garcia, Operation Officer under the direct supervision of PCInsp. Rocky Q. Desear, Acting Chief of Police. The operation was also witnessed by a representative from the media, Cyrus M. Garde of NDB/Happy Radio, DYAG, Barangay Kagawad John Nopueto and Reynaldo Dela Cruz of Brgy. Tinampaan. This activity was conducted by the Bureau of Jail Management and Penology headed by JSInsp. 1 Die, 4 Hurt in Cadiz Crash

The driver of a motorcycle was killed; and four tricycle passengers injured when they collided in front of a coal fired power plant office along Access Road in Barangay Tinampaan, Cadiz City around 8:40 a.m. Sunday.

Police Chief Inspector Rocky Desear, OIC police chief identified the victim as Samson Leonoras Ayori, 23, construction worker of Purok Narra 3, Barangay Tinampaan, Cadiz City.

He reportedly died on the spot due to head and body injuries. He was brought to Cadiz District Hospital and was declared dead on arrival by Dr. Lyka Garcia.

Cadiz City Sets World Rabies Awareness Day Dog Walk 2017

The Global Alliance for Rabies Control has declared every 28th of September as World Rabies Day.

Cadiz City commemorated this event with a WORLD RABIES AWARENESS DAY DOG WALK 2017 last Sept. 30, with the theme “RABIES FREE NEGROS BY 2020”.

Assembly and on-site registration was at 6AM at the Children’s Playground and then converged at the Cadiz City Hall.
