DAR Orders Probe of Road Construction in Murcia

The central office of the Department of Agrarian Reform (DAR) has ordered its local office to investigate an alleged illegal road construction in a CARPed area in Purok 9, Brgy. Minoyan, Murcia.

In a May 10, 2017 order signed by Engr. Leandro Caymo, director of DAR’s Bureau of Land Tenure Improvement, obtained by media Saturday, it endorsed the letter of Task Force Crusaders national deputy commander John Chiong requesting to investigate the complaint it received from Valentin Jamelo.

The order to Teresita Mabunay, Provincial Agrarian Reform Program Officer II for Negros Occidental-North, directs her office to immediately take action on the complaint “15 days upon receipt of the endorsement” from the DAR central office.

Complainant Jamelo claimed that Atty. Rolando Villamor, former Bacolod City administrator “constructed a road path on land covered by certificate of land ownership (CLOA)” in the area in Murcia.

Jamelo has also attached a blotter report from the Murcia Police Station and several photos of the alleged illegally-constructed road he also claimed also caused environmental damages.

Jamelo requested TFC to help him seek redress in a letter to Chiong dated March 16, 2017.*( Eugene Y. Adiong)
