VRESCO Now Changed to NONECO
The VMC-Rural Electric Service Cooperative (VRESCO) has been changed to Northern Negros Electric Cooperative, Inc. (NONECO) for electric cooperative servicing Northern Negros Occidental, according to Atty. Dan Pondevilla, OIC-General Manager.
Pondevilla clarified that the NONECO was approved in the last 41st Annual General Membership Assembly (AGMA) held last year.
In last Sunday’s 42nd AGMA, the electric cooperative presented the official logo, its theme and theme song.
Pondevilla added, they have already processed said documents to the National Electrification Administration (NEA) for formality as it was already approved during last year’s AGMA.
"There is no legal effect whatsoever in the change of name from VRESCO to NONECO," he claimed.
"There is no change of whatever liabilities and assets of the electric cooperative or change of corporate personality. It is just the same; the same constitution and by-laws," he opined.
He explained that the rationale of changing the name is for identification and not misconstrued or misunderstood that it is owned by Victorias Milling Company. This is to avoid confusion too as the electric cooperative is owned by consumer-members.*
