Local Gov’t Officials Commend Ceres FC in UFL
Ceres-La Salle Football Club has two games left in the ongoing United Football League but the Negros Occidental and Bacolod City-based club is a virtual champion even if it loses the rest of its matches.
For Negros Occidental Gov. Alfredo Marañon Jr., the club’s success will continue to inspire our young Negrense-athletes to develop their skills and increase their enthusiasm in this sporting event. "I wish you all the best and continued success in all your future endeavors," the provincial father said.
On the other hand, Vice Gov. Eugenio Jose ‘"Bong" Lacson also extended his congratulations to the Ceres-La Salle FC for winning the title.
"Your victory is a testament of your determination to excel in football. It is my hope that as you continue to compete and carry the identity as homegrown team, you will also continue to bring pride and honor to our beloved province," he stressed. "Thank you for being an inspiration to our people especially the youth of today," he added.
For the part of Bacolod City Mayor Monico Puentevella, the Ceres FC once again have made Bacolod proud by winning the coveted crown of the tournament.
"Your team has been very instrumental in making the sport of football very popular in the City of Bacolod and the Province of Negros Occidental. Your aim to gather all football enthusiasts coming from all over the country using the sport of football as the common language for everyone to talk, understand and build friendship among teams is very commendable," the city chief executive said.
"Rest assured that the City Government of Bacolod will always be supportive of these sporting activities promoting unity, harmony and sportsmanship among our athletes, especially in football. May you bring home more championship trophies in the coming days for the glory and honor of Bacolod City," he added.
