Mayor Lizares Plans to Extend Benefits to the City’s PWDs Amounting to P1.6-M
Mayor Neil E. Lizares III led the celebration of the 39th National Disability Prevention and Rehabilitation Week at the Talisay Public Plaza with the theme “Karapatan at Prebelihiyo ng Maykapansanan: Isakatuparan at Ipaglaban!”

Organized by the City of Talisay’s Social Welfare and Development Office, the City’s differently-abled citizens cheered to Mayor Neil’s announcement of a proposed P450 quarterly allowance for the City’s 850 registered PWDs or a total budget of P 1.6 million to be allocated for this endeavor starting January 2018.
“Nobody’s perfect. The advantage and disadvantage come in many forms. Ang isa ka tawu naga asenso number one tungod sa iya perseverance. ang isa ka butang wala gahalin sa physical kun indi sa paminsaron,” Mayor Neil said in his speech during the program.
Lizares added that if time and resources permit, the distribution of PWD allowances may start as early as the third quarter of this year.*
