‘Tawag ng Tanghalan’ Champ Noven Belleza Gets More Support

The supposedly rape case filed against “Tawag ng Tanghalan” champion Noven Belleza of Victorias City was downgraded by the Cebu prosecutor to sexual assault.

This, after the fiscal assessed the circumstances, thereby allowing the farmer- turned-champion to post bail and be temporarily set free.

Despite his ordeal, Belleza continues to get a growing support from his fans and followers, especially after his father’s statement that the young singer “is not guilty” as he “is not like that as a person.”

Ogie Alcasid is among those who expressed support and prayer for Belleza after the Tawag Ng Tanghalan champion has been charged of sexual assault.

In an interview with the media at the launch of his latest album “Nakakalokal”, Ogie shared his thoughts on Noven’s present ordeal.

“Full support kami kay Noven, well I can speak for myself. I will pray for him na you know maayos niya to at hindi ko alam ang buong istorya nito and siyempre kailangan nating malaman ‘yung buong istorya but at the same time Noven is kasama natin, he is our champion so we need to pray for him,” he stated.

Ogie refused to comment further about the speculations surrounding Noven’s case.

“I cannot comment on that, hindi ko alam ang totoo eh, I don’t know. I hope he is okay and I hope the aggrieved party is okay too, dalawang party ‘yan eh. Sana maayos na,” he said.

Noven won Tawag ng Tanghalan in March this year. Ogie is one of the judges of the competition.*(Push w/reports from NDB)
