130 Toddlers Avail of Free Dental Services
A total of 130 toddlers aged four years old and below from three poblacion barangays in EB Magalona on Monday (July 17, 2017) availed of free dental services from dentists and dental technicians on board the Provincial Dental Health Bus of the provincial government of Negros Occidental.
The beneficiaries were enrollees of the three Day Care centers in Baragays 1, 2 and 3 Poblacion.

Dubbed as “Dental Caravan 2017,” this endeavor was initiated by EB Magalona Vice Mayor Rob Acaling in tandem with Third District Provincial Board Member David Albert Lacson, and with the full support of the provincial government thru the Provincial Health Office.
“Concept of this is to spread awareness among our little ones in town, including their parents the importance of oral and dental health care,” explained Acaling.
“That’s why we’ll saturate all the 23 barangays in EB Magalona so to penetrate even the remotest or far-flung areas purposely to also extend free dental services even to the ‘poorest of the poor’ kids, ”he added.
“Nothing extra-ordinary yet quite emotive to really serve even our youngest constituents in town,” Lacson stressed.
Moreover, the board member said teaching kids about good oral and dental hygiene is deemed necessary nowadays.
“As early as possible, we need to develop self-confidence among our little Saraviahanons. So, we need to start from the very basic – teaching them to take care of their teeth and to get rid of bad breath,” emphasized Acaling.
Both Lacson and Acaling thanked Gov. Alfredo Marañon, Jr. for giving all-out support to this Dental Caravan 2017.
Acaling also distributes free dental kits to young beneficiaries. Each kit contains a toothbrush, toothpaste and a plastic tumbler.
The poblacion leg, said Acaling, was just a pilot episode of Dental Caravan 2017 in EB Magalona .
Twenty more barangays will be visited by the Dental Health Bus and, probably, thousands of little Saraviahanons will be served in the succeeding weeks, capped the Vice Mayor.*
