Rev-X Scores Sprint 4t in 2nd Round of Fil-Sino

The second round of Fil-Sino Inter-Color Petron Cup 35 and above started with Rev-X All Terrain defeating No. 2 Sprint 4t Racer, 92-84, at the Po Hang Gym of Bacolod Tay Tung High School.

In the other game, Sprint 4t Rider conquered Ultron Extra, 85-72, in the 36 and above category.

Sprint 4t Rider took the first half, 23-17 as Jolly Castillo knocked down 11 points and Chibon Uy added 8 in contrast with James Uy and Arvin Gustilo that combined for 15 points.

Efraim Valencia scored 7 points and Stephen Tan added 5 points to cut the deficit at the half 38-35 for Sprint 4t Rider.

Castillo continues to drill his perimeter jumpers good for 10 points as Sprint 4t Rider extended the lead anew to, 61-52.

Ultron Extra cut the deficit to 4 points in the 4th quarter behind Michael Posa, Gustilo and Valencia but after a timeout Sprint 4t Rider responded with an 8-0 run that zapped the momentum of Ultron Race and coasted for a double digit victory.

Uy paced Sprint 4t Rider with 14 points; Chris Javelosa netted 12; Johnnyson Yu had 9; Monro Chua 8 pts; Michael Ang had 7 and Charlton Ong with 6 points.

Gustilo had a game-high 16 points; Posa added 14; Valencia tallied 12; James Uy added 11 and Cris Pascua with 6.

In the nightcap Rev-X All Terrain had, 42-37 lead at halftime as Yan Yan Dy had 14 points in the 2nd quarter with teammates Vincent Tan and Joel Masadia making 6 points each.

Arnol Laureño had 10 points and Clarence Quingco shot 8 for Sprint 4t racer.

Alvan Rodriguez and Laureño combined for 15 points in the 3rd quarter to cut the déficit, 62-60 even as Angelo Lizares had 2 triples and Buddy Eufre scored 5 points for Rev-X All Terrain.

The trio of RB Chua, Alvin Dionela and Laureño combined for 22 points but Rev-X All Terrain weathered the rally as they countered with the balance offense of Ceazar Tan , Yan Yan Dy, and Leo Bat-Og also combined for 22 points.

Dy topped Rev-X All Terrain with 20; Bat-Og added 12; Tan drilled 10; Buddy Eufre produced 9; Joel Masadia had 8 and Danty Ma with 6 points.

Laureño scored 20 points; Dionela had 17; Chua with 13; Rodriguez had 10; while Timothy Chua and Omar Galunan delivered 5 points each.* (Cyrus M. Garde)
