Negros Guv Eyes Political Unity
Last termer Negros Occ. Governor Alfredo Marañon Jr., wants unity among local politicians in the province.
“That is our goal. That is our purpose but it is a very hard task to reunite them because each and everyone has their own agenda,” the governor said.
Marañon made the comment amid rumors that it will be a three cornered fight when his term ends in 2019.
In the running to replace Maranon are Representative Alfredo Benitez (3rd district), Vice Governor Eugenio Jose Lacson and his running mate during the 2016 elections, former Rep. Jeffrey Ferrer.
“Let them resolve that among themselves. Anybody can aspire but there are still a lot of things that could happen from now until 2018,” Marañon said.
As for now, all are still speculations until they make their decisions on their political plans, Marañon said.*
