DA Officials from Region XII Attend Vermi-Culture Seminar in Cadiz City
Twelve officials of the Region XII office of the Department of Agriculture based in Koronadal City, North Cotabato attended a two-day intensive seminar in vermi-composting which was held at the Monfort Farm in Brgy. Daga, Cadiz City.

The seminar, consisting of lectures and hands-on training, as well as farm visits was conducted by sugar farmer Ildefonso “Nonong” Monfort and agriculturist Santiago Tadifa.
The participants were headed by Dr. Lorna Vilbar, Ph.D., Chief of the Research Division; Engr. Ronald Montero, Chief Agriculturist, Engr. Nolito Garcia, Farm Supt. II; Benjamin Casis, Project Devt. Officer II; Grizel Ann, DAP Staff; Harold Ramos, DAP staff; Jake Agustin, Admin. Asst. V; Michael N.N. Mosqueda; staff; Ma. Corazon Sevilla, Science Research Specialist II; Rona Mae S. Porras, Research Assistant; Kenith Mirafuentes, Agriculturist II, and Janice Ann Quinit, HV CDP staff.
Dr. Vilbar, speaking in behalf of the participants, was amazed by the progress of the vermi-culture program in Negros Occidental.
Ildefonso Monfort replied that the reasons behind this progress may be attributed to the all-out support of Negros Occ. Governor Alfredo Marañon which has made the province the “Organic Capital of the Country.”*
