Ledesma Farm Manager on Disallowed Entry ‘They Should Have Asked Permission’

The manager of the farmlands of Rep. Julio Ledesma IV in San Carlos City explained that they did not allow the entry of a convoy of vehicles, with Board Member Rolando Ponsica, acting Escalante Mayor Santiago Maravillas and Prov’l Capitol employees as passengers, “because they did not ask permission from us.”

Mariano Antonio Cui III, manager of the Gamboa Hermanos Farmers Multi-Purpose Cooperative that manages the sugar farms of Ledesma, told Negros Daily Bulletin “it is basic courtesy that when you enter a private property, you need to ask permission from its owners.”

Rep Ledesma’s Driver Shot Dead

SAN CARLOS CITY - The local police here are still conducting thorough investigation on the killing of the local driver and hacienda worker (doing all-around work) of 1st District (Negros Occidental) Congressman Julio Ledesma IV, who was shot dead at Center Mall in Palampas at about 6:30 p.m. Tuesday, in the city.

Police Superintendent Jacob Crisostomo, acting San Carlos City PNP chief identified the victim as Renato Bolpa, 43 years old, resident of Barangay Patun-an, Calatrava.

‘Ortiz Never Fulfilled Promises’

Jude Samarita has launched fresh accusations against Salvador Benedicto Mayor Jose Max Ortiz.

Samarita, a former ally of the mayor told Negros Daily Bulletin that Ortiz promised many people in the town when he became mayor in 2013 but “never fulfilled any of them.”

He said on top of this promises is to file cases against the Dela Cruz family, his predecssors.

“But, until now not one case has been filed against former Mayors Nehemias, Cynthia and Marxlen Dela Cruz,” he pointed out.
