SP extends deadline of business permit filing
The Sangguniang Panlungsod (SP) of Bacolod, during its regular session yesterday, extended the deadline for the payment of business permits in the city, from January 20 to February 28, 2018.
This was confirmed by Councilor Caesar Distrito, Chairperson of the SP Committee on Laws, Ordinances and Good Government who authored the extension of filing of business permits and the payment of the first quarter business tax.
“The extension will in effect exempt businesses that failed to secure business permits from payment of penalties and surcharges,” Distrito said.
The Metro Bacolod Chamber of Commerce and Industry (MBCCI) requested Mayor Evelio Leonardia to extend the filing of business permits and the first quarter payment of business tax, which the Mayor then endorsed to the SP being the body that can allow an extension.
The head of the Permits and Licensing Division, Stella Rose Rayos, has also requested for the extension of the filing of the business permit, citing that there are still numerous establishments who were not able to process their permits.*
