Escalante tops Prov’l SP with most number of ordinances, resolutions

Senior Member Salvador Escalante (2nd district) topped the recent list of the Sanggunian Panlalawigan of Negros Occidental in terms of the most number of ordinances and resolutions passed in 2017.

Based on the record provided by Atty. Maki-Angel Ascalon, Escalante, chair of the Committee on Finance, Ways passed 485 resolutions an d 19 ordinances and under Human Resource with 64 resolutions.

He is followed by BM Alain Gatuslao (5th district), chair of the Committee of the Laws, Rules and Ordinances with 164 and two ordinances while under Committee on Cooperatives with 42, BM Helen Zafra (6th dist) under her Committee on Health and Social Services with 112 resolutions while under her Committee on Women and Family Welfare and Negros Child with 19 resolutions, BM Samson Mirhan (2nd dist) of the Committee on Natural Disaster and Calamities with 24 resolutions and BM Rommel Debulgado (1st dist.) with 22 resolutions, the records show.

The SP members and their output are: BM’s Antonio Encarquez- 21, Manuel Frederick Ko- 13, David Albert Lacson- 5, Victor Javellana- 23, Jose Maria Alonzo- 10, Renato Malabor Jr.- 9, Pedro zayco Jr- 34, Valentino Miguel Alonso- 9 and Annabelle Bermudo- 9.

Overall, the SP passed 1,065 resolutions and 27 ordinances in 2017.*(NDB)
