Cops hold traditional New Year’s courtesy call

The Police Regional Office (PRO) 6 held its traditional Regional Director’s Call for the New Year at Camp Martin Teofilo B. Delgado in Iloilo City yesterday.

The New Year’s Call is a traditional activity wherein all Philippiine National Police (PNP) members pay courtesy call to their commanders or key officials in their respective areas of responsibility.

PRO6’s command group, regional staff with their deputies, personal and special staff, provincial and city directors, battalion commander of regional mobile force battalion 6, chiefs of the National Support Units, chief of police of component cities and class a municipalities, station commanders of numbered police stations, RESPO and NUPAs attended the event to pay heed to the region’s top cop.

Chief Supt. Cesar Hawthorne Binag, regional director for Western Visayas, in his message, emphasized that Year 2017 was a year of accomplishments for PRO 6.

“We have enjoyed the support of the local government units and the general public here in Western Visayas wherein our latest partnership in bringing down fireworks injuries during the celebration of Christmas and New Year was successful. We also enjoyed the support of the local media and information community, with our Regional Public Information Office adjudged as the Best Performing Office in Western Visayas by the Philippine Information Agency (PIA) Region 6. At the same time we gained the trust and confidence of the community by way of showing their support in the wake of the death of PO1 Joeffel Odon and hospitalization of the personnel in the resent Maasin and Sibalom attacks. They also came out in full force to support the ‘DalaganSupportasaKapulisan’ as well as ‘Bless our PRO6 cops’ concert that raised Ph2,800,000.00 for out KIPO (Killed in Police Operation), WIPO (Wounded in Police Operation) and personnel facing harassment cases,” Binag said.

The PRO6 top cop further added, “We firmly believe that this year there will be more transformation in Police Regional Office 6 and Western Visayas as a whole.”*(PR)
