Ceres-USLS Faces Host Squad in 2nd Sagay Men’s Open Finals

Ceres-University of St. La Salle (USLS) FC will defend its crown against host-Sagay North Negros team in today’s finals of the 2nd Sagay Men’s Open Championships at the Sagay National High School.

USLS and Sagay side completed the eliminations with 3 wins, a draw and a loss record each.

After dominated their first three games, La Salle was forced by visiting Ateneo de Manila to a 4-all draw as Javier Augustine Gayoso and Julian Vincent Roxas scoring pair of goals apiece for the visiting side while Jo Warren Bedia, Charles Ivan Barberan and Kjay Gedor delivered goals for La Salle.

The Ceres-backed team suffered another disappointing performance in their final game with 1-2 upset against Villa Angela FC. Jaime Poderoso led Villa Angela with 2 goals while Gedor scored for La Salle.

On the other hand, Sagay North Negros blanked Negros Selection, 3-0 to secure the finals berth. Gerard Paparon scored 2 goals as Reynolds Wayco added another for Sagay.

Meanwhile, Ateneo, which failed to return in the finals after a 2-1 loss to University of Negros Occidental-Recoletos in their last game in the eliminations, will face Villa Angela FC for the battle for third.
