Duterte Appoints Monico Jr. to John Hay Corp. Board of Directors
President Rodrigo Duterte recently appointed Monico “Nicky” Puentevella, Jr. as one of the Board of Directors of the John Hay Management Corporation (JHMC).
“Pursuant to the provisions of existing laws, you are hereby appointed Member, Board of Directors, John Hay Management Corporation,” the President said in his letter dated February 8, 2017.
In another communication dated February 13, 2017, Gregorio D. Garcia III, Chairman of the Bases Conversion and Development Authority (BCDA), formally informed Mr. Puentevella of his appointment and extended his congratulations.
“I am pleased to inform you that you have been appointed to the position . . . by President Rodrigo R. Duterte,” Chairman Garcia said in his letter.
JHMC is a government-owned and controlled corporation that serves as the implementing arm of the BCDA in the Camp John Hay Reservation. It is mandated to develop the reservation as a premiere tourist destination of Northern Philippines, including Baguio City.
Nicky Puentevella will serve the unexpired term of office of former Board of Directors Ceasar Oracion. In 2009, Mr. Puentevella was also appointed by then President Gloria Macapagal–Arroyo as member of the Board of Directors of the Philippine Postal Bank, Inc. (PPBI).
Meanwhile, Aurelio “Art” Puentevella was recently appointed as Regional Sports Coordinator of the Negros Island Region (NIR). Art Puentevella was formerly Director of the Local Water Utilities Administration (LWUA).*
