LTO R6 to open Pilar Capiz Extension Office

LTO Region 6 Regional Director Roland C. Ramos recently traveled to Pilar, Capiz, the northernmost part of Capiz province to meet Pilar Municipal Mayor Gideon Ike Patricio and other mayors of neighboring towns on his plan to establish an LTO Extension Office in that town.

LTO VISIT. Pilar Capiz Mayor Gideon Ike Patricio (2nd from left) welcomes LTO officials headed by Region VI Regional Director Roland C. Ramos, LTO Region 6 Administrative Officer Nanette de Ocampo and LTO Bacolod Chief and Provincial Law Enforcement Services Head Renato S. Novero during their visit to establish an LTO Extension Office in the town.*

Ramos was welcomed by Mayor Patricio, Sara Mayor Ermelita Salcedo and Maayon Mayor Wilfredo Borres and town officials from the different communities. Ramos stressed his plan to reach out the northern part of Panay Island as he saw the serious concerns of operators and drivers of motorcycles, tricycles and other vehicles having a difficult time in complying with the registration process required of them by the Land Transportation Office due to the distance factor.

In that consultative meeting, Pilar Mayor Patricio indicated his support by announcing that he will donate a substantial property to the national government and donate the construction of the new LTO Extension Office once the plan of Director Ramos is approved by the LTO Central Office.

With this new LTO Extension Office proposed in Pilar town, the neighboring towns of northern Capiz and Iloilo will also be the beneficiaries of this convenience conceptualized by Director Ramos.

The northern towns of Iloilo to be serviced by the Pilar LTO Extension Office are Balasan, Estancia, Carles, Sara, Concepcion, San Dionisio, Lemery, Batad and President Roxas. Meanwhile, the towns in Northern Capiz are Pilar, Maayon, Pontevedra, Panay and Panitan.

Thousands of motorcycles could now register with ease as Director Ramos expects the proposal to be considered by the LTO Central Office soon. Mayor Patricio, in turn, thanked Ramos for his gesture in bringing government service closer and faster to the people of the far flung municipalities.

With Ramos in the evaluation team are LTO Bacolod Chief and Provincial Law Enforcement Head Renato Novero and LTO Region 6 Administrative Officer Nanette de Ocampo. *
