Man on bail shot in Canlaon

A man with illegal possession of firearm case was shot by unidentified suspect while standing in front of a bakery at Midtown Public Market in Canlaon City, Negros Oriental about 7:30 p.m. Tuesday.

Police authorities in Canlaon PNP identified the victim as Harry Biano Sagaycay, 42, married, of Exodus Avenue, Barangay Panubigon, Canlaon.

He sustained multiple gunshot wounds in the body and was rushed to Canlaon District Hospital.

The victim was transferred later to Corazon Locsin Montelibano Memorial Regional Hospital in Bacolod City for further medical attention.

Police investigation disclosed that the victim was standing in front of Sophie’s Bakery when the suspect suddenly appeared and shot him several times, then fled on board a motorcycle.

Police recovered seven empty shells and one slug of .45 caliber firearm at the crime scene.

Police record shows that the victim was once arrested for illegal possession of firearms, but was released after posting bail bond.

Police is still conducting investigation of the incident to determine the real motive of the shooting.*
