Driver shot dead in Sipalay
A driver of ambulant vendors was shot dead by three unidentified men around 8:40 a.m. Tuesday in Sitio Cambogui-ot, Barangay Camindangan, Sipalay City.
Chief Inspector Romeo Vargas, Sipalay OIC police chief identified the victims as Jonel Carbadilla Villarosa, 37, married, of Purok Malipayon, Barangay Camindangan, Sipalay.
He sustained multiple gunshot wounds on his body and died on the spot.
The victim was a tricycle driver of Metchian Gregorio, of Barangay Camindangan, who sells merchandise in Sitio Cambogui-ot with two other female helpers. It was market day on Tuesday.
Gregorio added that the victim was sitting on their parked tricycle about 2 meters from their kiosk when two of the suspects approached and shot the victim with short firearms. The other served as lookout.
The victim was able to crawl towards their kiosk but the suspects continued to shoot him.
The three then fled towards the mountainous area of Barangay Camindangan.
Village Chief Uldarico Vingno of Barangay Camindangan turned over to Sipalay police two slugs of caliber .45 pistol which he recovered from the crime scene.
Dr. Katrina Dyann May Pastolero, M.D, Medical Officer, City Health Office of Sipalay conducted post mortem examination on the victim.
The victim’s wife is identified as Manilyn Paloma Villarosa, 37.
Police is still conducting investigation to determine the motive of the incident.*(CMGarde)
