Thirty-eight Capitol department and office heads are currently attending the two-day Local Economic Development Strategy Planning jointly organized by the Metro Bacolod Chamber of Commerce and Industry (MBCCI) and the Provincial Economic Development and Investment Center (PEDIC) that started yesterday at the Beach House in Sagay City.

A senior citizen was found dead in his house around 11:00 a.m. Monday in Barangay Patun-an, Calatrava, Negros Occ.

Police Chief Inspector John Joel Batusbatusan, Calatrava police chief identified the victim as Franco Querubin Fuertes, 60, single.

Barangay official Wilson Jorolan informed the police about the incident claiming that they found the body because of foul odor from the house.

The victim was last seen on November 24, 2017. He was living alone in the house.

They told police that the victim may have been electrocuted.

Newly-installed Sugar Regulatory Administration (SRA) board member representing the planters, Emilio Yulo, said a committee created by SRA to conduct an investigation into the cause of the continued low prices of sugar, is on the move.

E.B. Magalona town’s Ugyonan Seafood Festival is all set on December 9 to 11, Mayor Marvin Malacon said yesterday.

Malacon said that they expect the influx of more guests in this year’s celebrations.

“We target to have more than 3,000 tourists during the three-day event,” Malacon said.

So far, he said, 55 Korean guests have confirmed their arrival.

Malacon said, the event will not only add more following to the town’s famous blue crabs, but will help fisherfolk.
