Colegio de Sta. Ana de Victorias (CSAV) Titans made history after disposing La Consolacion College-Bacolod (LCC-B) Blue Panthers, 96-56, in the semi-finals of the 37th Season of NOPSSCEA Men’s basketball competition at the STI-West Negros University gym on Sunday.

This will be the first championship appearance of CSAV Titans in the best-of-3 basketball finals.

After a split result on the 1st leg, Kapisanan ng mga Brodkaster ng Pilipinas Negros Occidental Chapter dominated the 2-division basketball event and captured the Men’s volleyball title during the 2017 KBP-NPC Fellowship Games 2nd Leg at the Bacolod Arts and Youth Sports Center on Saturday.

Silay City Government and Habitat for Humanity Philippines Foundation, Inc. signed a memorandum of agreement yesterday for a multi-million housing project in Brgy. E Lopez, Silay City.

A man was shot and wounded by a suspect while walking with three other companions at Flying A, Barangay 1, Silay City around 12:05 a.m. yesterday, November 13, 2017.

Police Superintendent Noel Polines, Silay City OIC police chief identified the victim as Joey Enriquez Arellano, 24, single, of Barangay Kapitan Ramon, Silay.

He sustained gunshot wounds at the back of his body and was rushed to Teresita Jalandoni Lopez Provincial Hospital also in Silay for treatment.

The brother of a church minister was stabbed dead around 6:30 p.m. Sunday at the back of Cadiz City Hall along Jones-San Juan Streets, Barangay Zone 4.

Cadiz PNP Chief Inspector Rocky Desear identified the victim as Abener Ore, 61, of Juan Luna Street, Barangay Zone 4.

He sustained six stab wounds on his chest, stomach, neck and back portion of body from yet unidentified suspect who fled after the incident.

He was rushed to Cadiz District Hospital but was declared dead on arrival by Dr. Ritzie Marie Salado.

A man found dead around 7:00 a.m. Friday in Barangay Bandila, Toboso, was a fugitive with case of rape, according to Police Chief Inspector Ariel Pico, Toboso PNP chief.

Pico said the victim was identified as Rene Crispo Desoy, 31, single, of the place.

Pico said that the victim was found lying on the ground bloody and lifeless from stab and hack wounds in the different parts of his body.

He was also hogtied with a rope tied on his head and struck with hard object.

A civil security of the town of Moises Padilla was shot dead by three unidentified suspects while watching a cockfight around 2:45 p.m. yesterday, in Sitio Tibobong, Barangay Quintin Remo of the town.

Police Senior Inspector Allan Reloj, Moises Padilla PNP chief identified the victim as Bernard Bolhano Calteo, 36, married, of Sitio Tibobong, Barangay Quintin Remo.

He was reportedly watching a cockfight when three unidentified fully armed men approached him and shot several times.

He sustained multiple gunshot wounds in the body and died on the spot.
