After leading by 2 in halftime, Ceres-Negros Football Club lost its balance in the 2nd half as JPV Marikina salvaged a 2-all draw on Wednesday in the ongoing 2017 Philippines Football League at the Panaad Park and Stadium in Bacolod City.

The opening goal was scored by Fernando Rodriguez of Ceres FC in the 25th minute after JPV’s Lemuel Unabia swept Busmen’s Bienvenido Maranon inside the box. As Referee Mick John Pineda pointed to the spot, PJ Fadrigalan of JPV pushed down the referee after the call then was sent out of the field of play.

The burning issue of the P232 M as payment to be collected by CENECO from the member-consumers continue to rage. The public indignation against the implementation of this ERC Order culminated into a unified opposition. The motion for reconsideration filed by the Social Action Center, the Resolutions issued by the members of the CENECO Board of Directors, the manifestations of other advocacy groups and individuals resulted to the holding in abeyance in the implementation of the said Order.

Consumers heaved a sigh of relief after Ceneco suspended the implementation of the additional P0.0817 / kwh arising from the Energy Regulatory Commission decision allowing Ceneco to collect the P232 million differential billing it owes to Kepco.

Where did this P232 million figure come from? Do consumers have to pay for it?

In 2007, Ceneco entered into a contract with Kepco for the delivery of 40MW base load. In 2009, ERC approved the contract at a base price of P4.2511/kWh.

A murder suspect was arrested by elements of Criminal Investigation and Detection Group (CIDG-Bacolod) led by Chief Inspector Rey Cuanico in Purok Soledad, Barangay Dulao, Bago City around 4:55 p.m. Wednesday.

Cuanico identified the suspect as Ariel Balbona, 42, married, of the place.

Judge Francis Villena Guanzon, of the Regional Trial Court, Branch-62 in Bago City issued the arrest warrant dated July 13, 2017. No bail was recommended for his temporary liberty.

He was turned over to Bago City PNP where he was detained.*(CMG)

A big brother hacked his younger sister and also smashed with hard object the girl’s boyfriend at Purok Narra 3, Barangay Tinampaan, Cadiz City around 7:30 p.m. Wednesday.

Police Chief Inspector Rocky Desear, Cadiz City PNP OIC police chief identified the victim as Mary Jean Bayona Mahilum, 17, sustained hack wounds on her arms, shoulder and different parts of her body.

She was rushed to Cadiz District Hospital for treatment.

The driver of a motorcycle was killed when he was hit by the tip of a bamboo at Barangay 12, Bacolod City Tuesday noon.

The victim was identified as Harold Demapanag, 40, married, of Barangay 12. He was rushed to Corazon Locsin Montelibano Memorial Regional Hospital but was declared dead on arrival.

His backrider identified as Marlon Vargas and his 11-year-old son were injured when their motorcycle fell to the cemented road.

Police operatives arrested the leader of a robbery group in BREDCO Port in Reclamation area in Bacolod City Wednesday morning.

Police identified the suspect as Jonny Villarete, 31, single, of Purok Riverside, Barangay Bata, Bacolod City.

It was reported that he is a member of Arnold “Agui” Cuadra Robbery Group, but separate from the group and established his own group, too.

They are responsible for a series of robbery–hold up in Talisay, Silay and Bacolod cities.

All set in Bacolod City for the arrival of President Rodrigo Duterte on Sunday, October 22, as guest of honor and speaker at the closing of the 38th MassKara Festival.

According to City Administrator Atty. John N. Orola, Jr, the Presidential Management Staff met yesterday with the city officials to discuss the preparations for the President’s visit, who is expected to close the MassKara Festival 2017, or at least witness the closing on the last day.
