The president of the Negros Occidental Sports Coordinator and at the same time the sports coordinator of Sagay City have reset the date of the 8th Negros First Governor Alfredo G. Marañon, Jr., Cup Open Boxing Championships in Sagay.

The date from October 22 to 28 will be moved to October 15-21, 2017.

This is because of non available billeting centers that can accommodate hundred of boxers from the province and also from Negros Oriental to participate.

Its going to be a Wild Wednesday match tonight as Ceres-Negros Football Club and JPV Marikina are set to face each other in the ongoing 2017 Philippines Football League at the Panaad Park and Stadium in Bacolod City.

During the pre-match press conference yesterday, both teams are in high spirits to secure wins that will put them in a better place in the semi-final round.

Any increase on the burden to be paid by consumers is never welcome. But in the normal conduct of business, price increases come as a matter of course.

Perhaps a closer examination of the background of the issue can help clarify if the collection of the additional charge of P0.0817/kwh for 50 months is justified or not.

KSPC and Ceneco entered into a Power Sales Contract for 40MW base load on July 16, 2007. ERC approved the contract on February 26, 2009 at a base price of P4.2511/kWh. Moreover, KSPC and Ceneco entered into a Supplemental Agreement on July 29, 2011 for an additional supply of 24MW.

Dr. Cesar H. Medina, CESO V, Regional Director of the Commission on Higher Education (CHED) Region 6, said that Filipino workers are in great demand abroad because they never refuse to render overtime work, compared to other nationalities.

He also said, aside from being industrious, Filipinos are dedicated to their job. The reason why employers abroad prefer Filipino workers.

Cousins stabbed one another over a land conflict in Sitio Buragwak, Barangay Manghanoy, La Castellana, Negros Occidental around 11:30 a.m. Monday.

Police Chief Inspector Irma Teoxon, La Castellana PNP OIC chief identified the victim as Leo Eseller Espadera, 55, “Alias Tebor”, farmer, widow, also resident of the said addres.

He sustained multiple stab wounds in the stomach and left chest and died on the spot. He reportedly shouted for help and was heard by a witness identified as Michael Edrama who responded to the area.

Two persons riding in tandem on a motorcycle were killed around 7:30 p.m. Monday along Matab-ang Highway in Barangay Matab-ang,Talisay City.

Police Superintendent Adonis Rosales, Talisay City PNP chief identified the victims as Dennis Flores, 32, of Purok Lampirong, Barangay 2, Bacolod City and Harold Malihor, 32, of Barangay Caduhaan, Cadiz City.

Police said the motorcycle was driven by Flores, who was drunk. He bumped a parked cargo truck in the said area.

Kabisig Movement Chair Daniel Guillen is inviting the public to visit the Kabisig Philippine Government Expo and Trade Exhibit at SMX Bacolod.

The exhibit, which opened October 17 and will run until the 19th of the month, brought together under one roof government services as well as Small Medium Enterprises, some coming from as far as Manila.

More than 500 residents of the Third District of Negros Occidental, all with medical conditions like hernia, gallstones, goiter, polyp, cyst and the like that may require surgery underwent pre-screening last October 13, 2017 for the Nikki Cares Surgical Mission slated November 23 to 26, 2017 at the Teresita Jalandoni Memorial Provincial Hospital.

An Indian national was shot dead by a hold up suspect at Purok 3, Barangay Granada, Bacolod City 6:30 p.m. Monday.

Police Chief Inspector Sherlock Gabana, Station 5 chief identified the victim as Sulakhan Singh, 35, married, of Stone Haven Subdivision, Barangay Granada, Bacolod City.

Police investigator on-case PO3 Justine Positar, said the victim was in his van with his wife and son when the wife went out to collect payment from their customer. She was then followed by the suspect identified as Bertito Gersaba, 50 years old.

JSY Transport routed AACI Transport, 70-50 while Huminova Tigers blew away an undermanned AACI Trading, 102-71 last Wednesday in the 2nd Conference Fil-Sino All Asian Countertrade Inc. Inter-Color Tournament at Po Hang Gym of Bacolod Tay Tung High School.

Kevin Camato scored 24 points to lead Huminova Tigers to its 1st victory at the expense of top seed AACI Trading.

AACI Trading played with only 5 players took the opening quarter 25-22 led by Bam Bam Guevarra, RJ Iligan and Vincent Tan scored 7 points each even as Camato scored 11 points.
